On Tuesday, the ACC officially released the conference schedules for the 2022-2023 season. We break down the UNC basketball program’s conference slate here.

You know the college basketball season is drawing near when the full schedule is released.

On Tuesday, the ACC released the conference schedules for each of its respective teams. We now know when and where the UNC basketball will play throughout their conference slate.

Conference play kicks off for the Tar Heels at Virginia Tech on December 4, a contest that will be a challenge for Hubert Davis’ squad right out of the gate. Six days later, North Carolina will host Georgia Tech in their first home conference game of the season.

The Tar Heels are scheduled to play home and away games this season against Duke, NC State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Virginia, and Wake Forest.

Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Miami will travel to Chapel Hill, while the Tar Heels will play Florida State, Louisville, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech only on the road.

Speaking of the Blue Devils, the first matchup will take place on February 4 in Durham, while both teams will match up once again in the final game of the regular season, which will be played in Chapel Hill. This is a flip of what we saw last year, as Tar Heel fans don’t need to be reminded of what happened on the final day of the regular season in Durham.

The conference schedule should provide some challenges for the Tar Heels, as it’s certain that this team won’t sneak up on anyone as they did a season ago. However, with four returning starters and some much-needed added depth, the UNC basketball program has title aspirations heading into the 2022-2023 campaign.
