UNC Football: ACC Football Preseason Poll Released
As we’re just a few short weeks away from kickoff, where is the UNC football program projected to finish in this year’s ACC Preseason Poll?
On Tuesday afternoon, the Atlantic Coast Conference released its annual preseason poll for the upcoming college football season.
The 2022 ACC Preseason Poll was conducted by a vote of a media panel, including personnel that was credentialed for last week’s ACC Football Kickoff in Charlotte, North Carolina.
For Mack Brown and the UNC football program, they are projected to finish third in the Coastal Division.
Overall, the Tar Heels earned 823 points in the poll, receiving 18 first-place votes in the process. Two media members also chose North Carolina to win the overall ACC Championship, as the duo is hopeful that the UNC football program proves them right this season.
Clemson was the outright favorite to win the ACC, receiving 111 first-place votes in the Atlantic Division as well as an additional 103 votes to win the conference. Miami was projected to win the Coastal Division, earning 98 first-place votes.
Although the Hurricanes were projected to win their division, they finished third in the overall voting to win the conference. NC State, which was picked to finish second in the Atlantic Division, earned the second-most votes to bring home a conference championship this season.
Here’s a breakdown of how the overall voting went:
