UNC Basketball Recruiting prioritizing 2024 four-star guard
According to Class of 2024 four-star guard Travis Perry, the UNC basketball recruiting team is one of the programs currently prioritizing him.
Throughout the summer, Travis Perry has become arguably the hottest recruit out of his home state of Kentucky.
Currently ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 2 overall prospect in Kentucky and the No. 70 player in his class, Perry has picked up offers from the likes of Michigan, Stanford, and Ohio State, among others. Could the UNC basketball recruiting team’s offer be coming?
According to Perry, the Tar Heels have been prioritizing him in his recruitment. In an interview with Travis Branham of 247Sports, the Kentucky native stated that he’s been in contact with North Carolina assistant coach Jeff Lebo:
"North Carolina: “I’ve been talking to coach [Jeff] Lebo the most, but coach [Hubert] Davis and a couple of the assistants got to watch me in Rock Hill. Coach Lebo had said that they liked my game and the way I played and that they would have someone here to watch in Cali.”"
The Tar Heels have been active on the 2024 point guard market, as they recently made an offer to one of the top-rated point guards in the class. With how his recruitment is going, along with North Carolina’s latest interest, Perry could definitely end up being one of the next players that Hubert Davis and his staff decide to extend an offer to.
Perry doesn’t have any official visits scheduled to this point but states that he’s hoping to change this in the near future. With relationships being at the forefront of his recruitment wish list, the UNC basketball program could work its way into being a major contender to land the talented guard.
