UNC Basketball Recruiting offers top Class of 2024 point guard
The UNC basketball recruiting team has extended an official offer to the top-rated point guard prospect in the Class of 2024.
Even prior to the Nike EYBL Peach Jam event, the UNC basketball recruiting team has shown interest in point guard prospect Elliot Cadeau.
When college coaches were officially able to contact prospects from the Class of 2024 on June 15, Hubert Davis quickly reached out to Cadeau, who 247Sports Composite tabs as the No. 7 overall player (and the No. 1 point guard) in his class.
After seeing him live in action this week, it didn’t take long for the Tar Heels to ramp up their recruiting efforts.
According to Andrew Slater, North Carolina has officially extended a scholarship offer to Cadeau. He becomes the sixth player from the Class of 2024 to receive an offer from the Tar Heels.
The Tar Heels have done well in recent memory with tri-state area guards. R.J. Davis was recruited out of White Plains, New York (playing his high school ball for Archbishop Stepinac), while Class of 2023 commit Simeon Wilcher has thrived as a lead guard for Roselle Catholic in New Jersey.
Could Cadeau be the next player from this area to make his way to Chapel Hill?
It’s important to note that the five-star guard will not be finishing out his high school career where it started. After spending two seasons at Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, Cadeau has decided to transfer to Link Academy and is now ranked as the top player coming out of the state of Missouri.
Even with this change, it’s certain that the UNC basketball recruiting team will be keeping close tabs in hopes that he decides to take his talents to North Carolina in the future.
