The four-star recruit has caught the eye of several Power 5 programs, setting up for competitive recruitment for the UNC basketball recruiting team.

After extending an offer to 2023 four-star T.J. Power last week, Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball recruiting team have turned on the full-court press.

With Wednesday being the first day of the recruiting live period, the North Carolina staff was in attendance to watch Power at the EYBL Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina.

Coach Davis was not alone in his evaluation of the 6-foot-8 forward, as head coaches Tony Bennett (UVA), Mike Woodson (Indiana), Jim Boeheim (Syracuse), and Mike Brey (Notre Dame) were also in attendance.

Power continued his impressive summer on the circuit, leading the Boston Amateur Basketball Club to a dominant 77-47 victory over The Skill Factory. The Worcester Academy standout poured in 16 points, nine rebounds, and two assists, connecting on two shots from beyond the arc.

This imposing performance comes on the heels of Power’s 16-point, six-assist outing in BABC’s 10-point win on Tuesday.

With the decommitment of five-star GG Jackson, the Shrewsbury, MA native has quickly climbed the ranks of the Tar Heels’ recruiting board. Power and fellow 2023 four-star Zayden High both received scholarship offers from Hubert Davis in the last week.

Kansas, Duke, and UCLA have all offered Power in the month of July, shaping up his recruitment to be a potential battle of the blue bloods. The Gatorade Player of the Year in Massachusetts has previously visited Virginia, Notre Dame, and Iowa.

Power heads into his senior season as the No. 1 player in the state of Massachusetts and the No. 53 overall recruit in the class of 2023 (247 Sports).

As North Carolina looks to add to their one-man recruiting class in 2023, expect Power to be at the forefront of the Tar Heels’ recruiting efforts.
