The UNC basketball program officially released its 2022-2023 roster, as there are some interesting player height and weight changes from a season ago.

With summer practices officially wrapped up for the UNC basketball program, the focus will now turn to opening night on November 7.

Of course, there’s still a lot of time until the Tar Heels actually take the floor in a meaningful game, but that won’t stop anyone from looking ahead!

On Wednesday morning, the program officially released its 17-man roster for the 2022-2023 season. Although there are no surprises, there are some notable height and weight changes for some of the Tar Heels’ returners.

Here’s a breakdown of some of those changes:

-Armando Bacot:
2021-2022: listed at 6-foot-10, 240 pounds
2022-2023: listed at 6-foot-11, 235 pounds

-Leaky Black:
2021-2022: listed at 6-foot-8, 200 pounds
2022-2023: listed at 6-foot-9, 205 pounds

-D’Marco Dunn:
2021-2022: listed at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds
2022-2023: listed at 6-foot-5, 190 pounds

-Puff Johnson:
2021-2022: listed at 6-foot-8, 205 pounds
2022-2023: listed at 6-foot-8, 200 pounds

-Caleb Love:
2021-2022: listed at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds
2022-2023: listed at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds

-Will Shaver:
2021-2022: listed at 6-foot-10, 265 pounds
2022-2023: listed at 6-foot-10, 260 pounds

There aren’t any drastic changes, but a few players did grow taller since they were measured prior to last season.

Bacot, who is in a competition with newcomer Pete Nance to see who’s taller, is now listed at 6-foot-11, while Black, who is already a thorn to opposing offenses, has added an inch to his height as well. Additionally, Dunn, a rising sophomore, has not only grown an inch in height but has added on five pounds, which should benefit him as he continues to improve his game.

The entire roster can be found on the official Go Heels website. It’s just a matter of time before this group starts its journey towards adding another national championship banner to the Dean Smith Center rafters.
