In UNC football recruiting news, the Tar Heels have officially extended an offer to rising sophomore quarterback Sawyer Anderson.

If you haven’t heard the name Sawyer Anderson yet, we insist that you look him up.

Anderson is a quarterback prospect from the Class of 2025. He resides in Dallas, Texas, and plays his high school football for Parish Episcopal School. As a freshman, Anderson led his school to not only a 12-1 record, but also a TAPPS Division I state title.

Not bad for a freshman!

Overall, Anderson finished his first high school season by throwing for 2,961 yards and 32 touchdowns. He was also very efficient, as he completed 64 percent of his passes while only throwing three total interceptions.

In recognition of his outstanding freshman season, college programs across the country are starting to take notice. One of them is the UNC football recruiting team, as they’ve officially extended an offer to Anderson this week.

With the Tar Heels offer, Anderson now has 13 scholarship offers on the table. Based on his production early on in his high school career, it’s safe to say that more offers will be heading his way in the very near future.

Mack Brown and the Tar Heels have been very active on the recruiting trail, and haven’t wasted any time trying to get some impact players in the Class of 2025.

With Anderson’s offer, North Carolina currently has six scholarship offers on the table for this respective class. This is just the start, as the hope is that some of these players will end up being the core of the future in Chapel Hill.
