The UNC women’s basketball program has extended an official offer to Aniya Trent, one of the rising stars in the Class of 2025.

Head coach Courtney Banghart and the UNC women’s basketball program have been out on the recruiting trail, as they’ve been searching for the next crop of talent to bring to Chapel Hill.

With this in mind, the Tar Heels have extended an official offer to one of the rising stars of the Class of 2025.

On her personal Twitter account, Aniya Trent announced that she received an offer from North Carolina. Trent currently is rated by ESPN as a four-star prospect and the No. 24 overall player in the Class of 2025.

Trent is a Springboro, Ohio native who currently stars for her hometown high school. As a freshman, the 6-foot-2 standout started 25 of the team’s 26 games, averaging 7.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.2 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game. She also connected on 55.5 percent of her shot attempts from the field.

As her stock continues to rise, more programs across the country are starting to take notice.

Along with her offer from the Tar Heels, Trent has also picked up additional offers from programs such as Michigan State and Maryland over the last few calendar days. She also currently holds offers from Illinois, Iowa, Toledo, Harvard, Illinois State, Cincinnati, Xavier, and Dayton.

Even though she has a lot of high school basketball ahead of her, it’s never too early to start focusing on the top talents of this respective class. Before you know it, this group will be heading to the college level, and hopefully by then, Trent will be making her way to Chapel Hill.
