In an effort to use his platform to benefit others, UNC basketball standout Armando Bacot has teamed up with the Me Fine Foundation.

Armando Bacot is one of the biggest stars throughout the college sports world.

The UNC basketball standout has made a popular name for himself, as he’s thrived on the court, in the classroom, and also in the new world of NIL that has greatly impacted college sports.

Heading into his senior year in Chapel Hill, the expectations are very high for Bacot and the Tar Heels. Even though the spotlight is certainly aimed at him, the Richmond, Virginia native wants to use his platform to help others as well.

Bacot has teamed up with the Me Fine Foundation. He will serve as the organization’s spokesperson to help raise awareness about its efforts and the people that are impacted by the foundation’s work.

In case you haven’t heard of it, the Me Fine Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2004. Its intent is to provide a full range of support, including financial and emotional, to families who find themselves in crisis due to medical diagnoses.

Since the Me Fine Foundation has helped more than 4,000 families financially. They serve families of children being treated at UNC Children’s, Duke Children’s, and WakeMed Children’s Hospitals.

When asked about his new role as the organization’s spokesperson, Bacot told Inside Carolina more about why he had an interest in partnering with this foundation:

"“Ever since the NIL rule changes went into effect last year, I have wanted to use my platform to make a difference in the North Carolina community. MeFine is an incredible organization doing critical work for families dealing with crippling medical expenses and I’m excited to partner with them to bring more awareness to their work, help them raise funds and help brighten the lives of the kids and families they serve.”"

It’s great to see Bacot using his platform to impact the lives of others. Since the NIL has been put into place, the UNC basketball standout has simply set the standard for how student-athletes can help people in need in their community.
