UNC Football among finalists for three-star OL Kamen Smith
The UNC football program is among three-star offensive lineman Kamen Smith’s finalists. Are the Tar Heels the favorite in this recruiting battle?
Kamen Smith, a three-star offensive lineman prospect from the Class of 2023, is down to four finalists in his recruitment, one that may come down to the two remaining teams from his home state of North Carolina.
The UNC football program is among the schools that are still in contention for Smith’s commitment, as NC State, South Carolina and Virginia Tech round out the short list of finalists. We won’t have to wait long for an announcement from Smith, as he’s set to make his commitment on July 10.
North Carolina has been active in recruiting Smith since they extended an official offer to the Wilkesboro, North Carolina native back on May 18. Since then, the 6-foot-5, 275-pound multi-sport athlete (yes, he plays basketball too) made a few official visits, with Chapel Hill being his most recent stop on June 24.
Smith is regarded as one of the better prospects coming out of the state of North Carolina. According to 247Sports Composite, Smith is regarded as the No. 23 overall prospect in his state as well as the No. 64 overall offensive lineman in his class.
At this point, there are two Crystal Ball predictions for Smith, both of which have him heading to NC State. Of course, it’s important to note that these both came prior to his visit to North Carolina, as things certainly could’ve changed since then.
The UNC football program has been hauling in 2023 commitments as of late and hopes to add another one on July 10.
Will Kamen Smith be the 15th commitment to the program’s “Jordan Class”?
We’ll have to wait and see.
