The UNC football program has added another dynamic playmaker to their recruiting Class of 2023, as Chris Culliver has committed to the Tar Heels.

Eight commitments in nine days?!

Talk about fireworks!

On July 4, 2022, the UNC football program earned a commitment from four-star wide receiver Chris Culliver. He follows fellow wide receiver Christian Hamilton as skill players who have committed to the program during this span of time.

According to 247Sports Composite, Culliver is currently ranked as the No. 13 overall prospect in the state of North Carolina. He is currently rated as the No. 42 player at his position in his graduating class.

Culliver is coming off a tremendous season in which he was one of the focal points of Maiden High School’s offensive attack. The future Tar Heel caught 60 passes for 1,215 yards and 23 touchdowns through the air and finished the season with a team-best 26 total scores. He also has some experience as a punt and kick returner.

His current head coach, Will Bryne, had this to say when asked about his standout receiver:

"“[Culliver] is just very explosive. He’s scarily similar to Caleb Farley, who is now playing for the Tennessee Titans. Not only with his explosiveness, but his foot speed, his quickness, [and] his change-of-direction is just so eerily similar to Caleb.”"

North Carolina now has 14 prospects committed to their “Jordan Year” class, as 247Sports rates them as the No. 16 overall recruiting class in the country at the moment. As more players continue to join the program, that rating has steadily gone up, especially after this very successful nine-day period.
