UNC basketball commit GG Jackson spoke about the recent rumors that he may be on the verge of decommitting from North Carolina.

Over the weekend, fans of the UNC basketball program received a major scare regarding the status of top 2023 commit GG Jackson.

Jamie Shaw of On3 released an article (one that only premium subscribers could access) discussing the possibility of Jackson backing out of his commitment to the Tar Heels.

After the story broke, we provided some details about what Shaw had to say in the article, as we knew that all Tar Heels fans may not have the premium access that we fortunately have. In case you missed the article, you can read more about Shaw’s report here.

Simply put, this speculation from Shaw put Tar Heel nation into a frenzy. On a side note, we apologize if we added to the frenzy: our goal was to provide you with what Shaw was reporting!

Just about a day after the report surfaced, Jackson took to social media to address the latest report, as he assured everyone that they were simply rumors.

On Instagram live, the No. 1 player in the Class of 2023 stated multiple times that he is still fully committed to the UNC basketball program. He added that the reports of him wavering on his commitment were rumors.

Was this click-bait from Shaw? If so, the report caused a ton of chaos, especially for Jackson, who had to make his social media accounts private due to it.

Although it’s relieving that Jackson himself said these are rumors, there’s still a lot of time left before Jackson is set to enroll in Chapel Hill. Of course, things could change from now until then, but for now, GG Jackson is a future Tar Heel, and we’re certainly happy to have him on board.

Next. Could North Carolina be heading to the SEC?. dark
