Zachary Tobe commits to the UNC Football program
Mack Brown and the UNC football program continue to add to their recruiting Class of 2023, as they added another three-star talent to the class.
Another day, another Class of 2023 commitment for the UNC football program.
Zachary Tobe becomes the eighth player to join the recruiting class, as he announced via social media his commitment to North Carolina. This comes after Tobe was one of 17 players that made an official visit to Chapel Hill this past weekend.
Along with visiting North Carolina, Tobe made official visits to four other programs: Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, and UCF. The Tar Heels were the last visit on his schedule, as the program made the most of their opportunity to “wow” him before he made his final decision on where to attend college.
Tobe, a three-star defensive back prospect, is currently ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 67 overall safety prospect in his class. Along with being a standout on the football field, Tobe has also been a notable track athlete, as he’s been a regional qualifier in the 110-meter hurdles event.
First-year co-defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach Charlton Warren has been impactful in recruiting secondary talent in the Class of 2023. Tobe noted that Warren definitely made an impact on his decision to attend North Carolina:
"“First, Coach Warren made me feel like I was a priority for them. And also, North Carolina’s academics are huge and the fact that they value that along with football, I couldn’t say no to come check that out.”"
Tobe follows fellow defensive back Dale Miller as players that have committed to the UNC football program over the last three days. The addition of Tobe gives Mack Brown and the Tar Heels eight total commitments in their 2023 recruiting class.
