With summer practices underway, the official social media accounts of the UNC basketball program have given us a first look at the team’s newcomers.

The excitement is certainly riding high in Chapel Hill!

As summer practices are underway, the UNC basketball program is hard at work preparing for their 2022-2023 redemption tour. After falling just short in last year’s national championship game, Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels return a bulk of their key contributors, as they hope to amend the heartbreaking loss that ended their incredible NCAA Tournament run.

Of course, a lot of the attention will surround the returning players, such as Armando Bacot, Leaky Black, RJ Davis, and Caleb Love. However, there’s a lot more to be excited about, especially the four newcomers to the program.

On social media, the official UNC basketball accounts posted the above photos of the four players, providing us with our first looks at them in Carolina blue. The three freshmen, Tyler Nickel, Seth Trimble, and Jalen Washington, are getting their first taste of the college level, while veteran transfer Pete Nance is working on getting acclimated to his new squad.

To add to the images, the UNC basketball program also posted this short video clip which shows some practice highlights from each of the newcomers.

If we all weren’t excited enough about the upcoming season, posts like these will certainly add to the anticipation. Heading into the season, North Carolina will be regarded as one of the top teams in the entire country and will need contributions from these newcomers if they want to be the last team standing in April.
