The UNC women’s basketball program has added yet another big-time player to their 2023 recruiting class, as RyLee Grays is heading to Chapel Hill.

Courtney Banghart and the UNC women’s basketball program have added yet another top-tier talent to their 2023 recruiting class.

RyLee Grays, a four-star post player from Houston, Texas announced on Sunday that she chose the Tar Heels over the likes of Baylor, Florida, N.C. State, Mississippi, and Texas. She becomes the third recruit to join this already star-studded Tar Heels recruiting class, as she will team up with five stars Ciera Toomey and Reneya Kelly.

This is another major addition for the UNC women’s basketball program, as their recruiting class now features three of the top 20 rated prospects. Grays, who is ranked No. 17 overall according to Pro Girl Hoops, will provide the Tar Heels with some quality depth in the front court.

The 2023-2024 Tar Heels should have plenty of height to work with, as five of their expected players on the roster are 6-foot-3 or above.

Grays is coming off a tremendous season for Pearland High School, as she guided them to a 28–10 overall record. The future Tar Heel led Pearland in points (17.8 per game), rebounds (9.4), steals (2.0) and blocks (0.6) while also shooting a staggering 56 percent from the floor.

When Grays visited Chapel Hill a few weeks back, current UNC basketball standout Armando Bacot made a surprise appearance to help recruit the talented forward to North Carolina.

Banghart and the Tar Heels continue to thrive on the recruiting trail, as Chapel Hill is quickly becoming a popular landing spot for some of the top recruits in the entire country.

Based on their recent success, both on the court and on the recruiting trail, it’s safe to say that this won’t be the last big-time women’s basketball player to decide that North Carolina is the right place for them.

Next. Deja Kelly... what a teammate!!!. dark
