Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball recruiting team are wasting no time with the Class of 2024, as they made an official offer to this five-star guard.

The UNC basketball recruiting team has officially extended its third offer to a member of the Class of 2024.

Based on this latest offer, the Tar Heels are going “all in” for the top prospects in this respective class.

Five-star guard Ian Jackson is the latest rising junior to receive an offer from North Carolina. Currently, 247Sports tabs Jackson as the No. 2 overall player in the class, and the top prospect out of the state of New York.

It was essentially a four-month span between the time that the Tar Heels offered their first two Class of 2024 scholarships to Cam Scott and Jarin Stevenson to their latest offer to Jackson. However, now that the official window is open for coaches to contact players of the Class of 2024, it seems as if Hubert Davis and his staff are ready to start focusing more on this respective group of talent.

After receiving his offer from North Carolina, Stevenson spoke to Inside Carolina about his early dialogue with Davis and the Tar Heels. Based on his comments, the Bronx, New York native appears to be intrigued by the possibility of becoming a UNC basketball player.

"“Me and Coach Davis, we talked for about 10 to 15 minutes. The conversation was about them getting to know me, not just as a player, but as a person. Same thing with my family. He asked me questions about them and what I liked to do away from basketball. He said he usually tries to watch a kid play once in person, but that from everything he’s seen and heard, I’m a really good kid, and the type of player he wants at Carolina. And then he told me he wanted to offer me a scholarship.”"

Stevenson went on to add that he was waiting for Davis to contact him, and was excited when it finally came to fruition:

"“I was waiting to hear from him. When the call came in, I was definitely excited. I know a lot about the history of that program, from Michael Jordan to Roy Williams who used to be the coach. They’re a team I’ve enjoyed watching growing up.”"

North Carolina could get some help with Stevenson’s recruitment, as the five-star guard stated that he already has some relationships with current and future Tar Heels. Along with having a relationship with current UNC basketball standout R.J. Davis, Stevenson says that he has a close relationship with 2023 commit Simeon Wilcher, and also got to know G.G. Jackson at the Team USA camp that was held back in April.

Davis and the Tar Heels have shown a ton of interest in guards from the New Jersey/New York area, as Stevenson could be the latest tri-state area prospect to make his way to Chapel Hill in the near future.
