On Tuesday, the UNC football program added three-star tight-end prospect, Julien Randolph, to their 2023 recruiting class.

You can officially add another player to the UNC Football program’s recruiting Class of 2023.

Three-star tight-end prospect Julien Randolph announced that he has committed to the University of North Carolina. According to 247Sports, Randolph is considered to be the No. 24 overall prospect coming out of the state of Virginia.

Randolph was originally committed to Vanderbilt but backed off that pledge on May 3. Shortly after, Mack Brown and the Tar Heels extended an offer, which led the Ashburn, Virginia native to schedule an unofficial visit to the campus a few weeks later.

With two official visits scheduled in the very near future to North Carolina and Miami (two of his finalists), the timing of his commitment is rather interesting. Based on his commitment, it appears as if Randolph didn’t need the visits to determine the right school for him.

Here’s what Randolph told 247Sports about his unofficial visit to Chapel Hill:

"“I was blown away. The facilities and the school are one thing. But then the coaching staff and how they welcomed me, and then they made it feel like family. It was really good.”"

Randolph becomes the sixth prospect to join the Tar Heels recruiting class, and the third that has announced their decision during the first few weeks of June.
