It’s not every day that you could say that the UNC football and UNC baseball programs received a commitment from the same player.

Kaleb Cost has announced his commitment decision, one that has plenty of impact on both the UNC football AND UNC baseball programs.

On Twitter, Cost posted that he will commit to the University of North Carolina. As seen in the edit posted by Cost, it appears that he has every intention of competing in both football and baseball at the college level.

As a football player, Cost is a three-star cornerback prospect. According to 247Sports, Cost is considered to be the No. 70 overall rated player coming out of the state of Georgia. On the baseball diamond, Cost currently stars for Sandy Creek High School.

This is certainly a win-win situation for both the football and baseball programs. Mack Brown and his staff have landed a talented corner prospect in the Class of 2023, while Scott Forbes and the Diamond Heels will also benefit from having him join the mix.

Multi-sport athletes are slowly becoming a thing of the past, as most young athletes are being directed to focus on one sport instead of playing a variety of sports. For Cost, he’s going against the current trend, as he’s making an effort to play both of his favorite sports at the next level.

The University of North Carolina receives plenty of commitments in the various sports programs that they offer. However, this one is definitely unique, as it will help impact two of the school’s most prominent programs.
