UNC basketball standout Brady Manek was among a handful of players who recently went through a pre-draft workout with an NBA Western Conference team.

The NBA Draft is quickly approaching, and teams around the league are doing their research on potential players that may be available to them.

For the UNC basketball program, all eyes are on Brady Manek, as he’s the lone Tar Heel from this year’s squad among this respective draft class. Although we haven’t heard much about his draft stock, we have learned that teams are expressing interest in the talented big man.

At the beginning of the week, Manek was among a handful of players who were part of a pre-draft workout with one respective Western Conference team.

According to Bally Sports NBA Insider Brandon Robinson, Manek recently went through a workout session with the New Orleans Pelicans. The former UNC basketball standout was joined by Julian Champagnie (St. John’s), Tyson Etienne (Wichita State), JD Notae (Arkansas), and Dereon Seabron (NC State).

Even though he’s viewed as most likely a second-round pick (or an undrafted player), Manek is a guy who could be a very valuable asset considering the way the current NBA is played. During his time in Chapel Hill, Manek, who possesses the size of a post player, showed that he shoots the basketball at a very high level, including from beyond the arc.

To add to that, the Harrah, Oklahoma native runs the floor extremely well and could be a lethal option for a team that likes to run the floor and create opportunities in fast-break situations.

It’s good to see that Manek is receiving some personalized workouts, which goes to show that there is some type of interest floating around. In all likelihood, Manek will probably have more opportunities to showcase his skills to NBA executives and coaches prior to the much-anticipated draft night.
