UNC Baseball to host Arkansas in Super Regionals
The UNC baseball program will continue to have home-field advantage, as they’ll host Arkansas in the upcoming Super Regionals.
Scott Forbes and the UNC baseball program have advanced to the Super Regionals but fortunately will not have to travel to get there.
With unranked Arkansas Stillwater Regional victory over host Oklahoma State, the Diamond Heels will host their portion of the Super Regional tournament. This best-of-three series will be held at Boshamer Stadium and will kick off on Saturday morning.
Tar Heels fans, clear your schedules (if you haven’t done so already!). Here’s the official Super Regional schedule:
Game 1 will be held on Saturday, June 11, with the first pitch scheduled for 11 AM EST. Game 2 will be an afternoon battle, as the Tar Heels and Razorbacks will square off beginning at 1 PM EST. More details regarding a potential third game will be announced if need be.
The Diamond Heels defied the odds and battled their way through the losers bracket in order to clinch their ticket to the Super Regionals. This marks the first time since this tournament format was implemented that the Tar Heels have been able to advance given this set of circumstances.
Over the weekend, the atmosphere at Boshamer Stadium was simply electric. From current dedicated students to passionate alumni, the Tar Heel faithful were loud and proud throughout. It should be even crazier this weekend as the Diamond Heels look to defend their home field while looking to keep their season alive.
