The UNC football program added another recruit to their Class of 2023, as three-star linebacker Caleb LaVallee is heading to Chapel Hill.

Mack Brown and the UNC football program have added another commitment to their Class of 2023 roster.

Caleb LaVallee, a three-star linebacker, announced his commitment to the Tar Heels on Monday night via social media. The Mableton, Georgia native is currently ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 65 linebacker prospect in his graduating class.

The Whitefield Academy product is a two-way player at the high school level and is coming off a very strong 2021 season. Here’s 247Sports’ athletic background report on the newest Tar Heel commit:

"Got snaps on both sides of the ball as a junior working at LB and RB. Credited with 106 tackles (65 solo) and six sacks in nine games per MaxPreps. Also averaged 6.7 yards per carry totaling 695 yards on the ground and 11 touchdowns for a Whitefield Academy team that competed in Peach State’s A Private classifcation."

LaVallee made an official visit to Chapel Hill on June 3 and committed to the program just three days later. It’s safe to say that the rising senior knew that North Carolina was the best fit for him right after his official visit to the campus.

The UNC football program is off to a solid start on the recruiting trail, as they now currently have four commits in the Class of 2023. It’s certain that more additions to this class will be made over the span of the next couple of months.
