UNC Women’s Basketball: Deja Kelly to host EmPOWERment Camp
Mark your calendars: UNC women’s basketball standout Deja Kelly is set to host an EmPOWERment Camp in Duncanville, Texas.
Deja Kelly understands that it’s more than just basketball.
In fact, the UNC women’s basketball standout is focused on giving back to her community. To give back to her community that “helped mold her into the young woman she is today,” the current Tar Heel created the Deja Kelly Empowerment Camp and has scheduled her first camp event this summer.
The first-ever Deja Kelly EmPOWERment Camp will be held on Sunday, August 14 at Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas. Two sessions will be held, one for elementary students and one for middle/high school students. Registration is free, but will be limited!
As part of the camp, the females who register will have the opportunity to learn some new skills that they could use on the basketball court. Additionally, the camp will have time where the participants will learn more about life and business skills that could help them in their futures.
For someone who has experienced being a collegiate student-athlete (especially with the new NIL rules in place), Kelly is a great role model for young females to follow. Her insight will be valuable for the participants of this camp, as she’ll look to help provide tips and advice that can help her campers in their future endeavors.
If you know someone who may be interested in this camp, don’t wait to register! Registration will open on June 1 and can be done by visiting the official Deja Kelly Camp website. You can also find more information on her camps and much more by visiting the link above.
