Former UNC Football player Kamarro Edmonds has found a new home, as he committed to East Carolina University to continue his academic and athletic career.

Just three weeks ago, UNC football player Kamarro Edmonds elected to enter the transfer portal.

The announcement was rather surprising, given that the UNC football program had recently wrapped up its set of spring practices. After having what was reported as a good spring camp, it seemed as if Edmonds was set to make an impact in the Tar Heels backfield this season.

However, Edmonds decided it was time to move on, and has officially found a new home.

Edmonds announced that he has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at East Carolina University. The former four-star recruit will now look to make his mark in the Pirates backfield for head coach Mike Houston.

We don’t know exactly why he decided to transfer, and of course, we don’t wish to speculate. However, it could have something to do with the Tar Heels running back depth, as it will be tough for all the talented players to see the field as much as they would like to.

Even with standout Ty Chandler departing for the NFL, the Tar Heels still have plenty of running back depth, including a few additions that are making their way to Chapel Hill. Of course, we would have liked to have seen what Edmonds could do in the Carolina blue, but the program should be able to sustain the loss with the depth that it currently possesses.
