Armando Bacot is not the only one that has been actively recruiting standout transfer Matthew Mayer to the UNC basketball program.

Matthew Mayer continues to be a top target of the UNC basketball program in the event that he elects to return to the college ranks next season.

It’s safe to say that Mayer will have plenty of suitors, but will they bring the social media recruiting that the Tar Heels have already brought to the table?

First, it was Armando Bacot tweeting the former Baylor standout. Following that, country music star Chase Rice added his opinion on why Mayer should head to Chapel Hill.

To add to all this, a top celebrity chef has made an offer to Mayer to try to help the cause.

In response to a tweet discussing how Mayer would fit with the UNC basketball program, Tom Colicchio, the host of Top Chef, a hit reality cooking show on Bravo, offered a season opener dinner for the team if Mayer commits to the program.

Of course, this offer would not only benefit Mayer but would provide his potential new team with an amazing meal made by a highly-respected chef with a very impressive resume to his name.

Sounds like that would be a GREAT way to kick off the start of the season!

Mayer still has to decide whether or not it’s time for him to pursue a professional career. If he does ultimately decide to return to college for another season, it will be very interesting to see what other former Tar Heels or even well-known fans of the UNC basketball program will jump in to help recruit him to Chapel Hill.
