NBA superstar LeBron James responded to a UNC basketball Twitter question about all-time favorite Tar Heels point guards.

Social media is a great place for college and professional teams to use their platform to connect with their fans.

On Friday, the official Twitter account of the UNC basketball program posed a rather interesting question, as they asked the fans to name their favorite Tar Heels point guard of all time.

This could be a very difficult question to answer, as there are a ton of very talented point guards that have gone through Chapel Hill. A handful of different players were mentioned, and even one NBA superstar chimed in to voice his opinion on the question.

Future Hall of Famer LeBron James named Ed Cota as his all-time favorite point guard from the UNC basketball program. This answer shouldn’t necessarily come as a surprise, given that Cota was a player for the Tar Heels when James was a teenager, a time in which he most likely was tuned into a ton of basketball during his free time.

Cota is, without a doubt, one of the players that certainly should be included in this mix. Even though his college career ended over 20 years ago, the now 45-year-old is still regarded as arguably the greatest passing point guard in program history.

After seeing James’ answer to the question, one former Tar Heel seemed to disagree with the four-time NBA champion’s pick.

Former UNC basketball standout Joel Berry posted the above tweet, which, in case you aren’t familiar with emoji terminology, means “thinking face.” This tweet could be a way for Berry to joke with James for not naming him as his favorite Tar Heel point guard (and of course, Berry has an outstanding collegiate resume to back him on this one!).

Of course, there’s simply no “wrong” answer to this question. Everyone will have their own opinion on the matter, and it’s interesting to see the responses that people have already replied back.

Whatever your answer to the question is, if you’re looking for a trip down memory lane, take a look at some of the names brought up in the Twitter feed. There are a lot of great Tar Heels players mentioned!
