The UNC football recruiting team received some good news on Saturday afternoon, as the Tar Heels have made this four-star’s Top 4 finalist list.

Markee Anderson is a very talented four-star offensive lineman prospect from the Class of 2023. As the Roebuck, South Carolina native gets closer to making his commitment decision, he has narrowed his list down to four finalists.

The above announcement was positive UNC football recruiting news, as the Tar Heels are joined by Clemson, LSU, and South Carolina as the finalists in this recruiting battle. Although the recent 247 Crystal Ball predictions favor the Gamecocks, there is still time for Mack Brown and his staff to convince Anderson that Chapel Hill is the place for him.

Currently, 247 Sports Composite has Anderson ranked as the No. 149 player in the Class of 2023. He is also viewed as the second-best prospect out of the state of South Carolina.

Here’s what National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn had to say about this Tar Heels’ recruiting target:

"Possesses guard size with length to play on interior of offensive line in college. Frame can support 300 pounds and remain productive. Plays physical and aggressive. Is violent with quick hands and able to overpower high school defenders. Fires off fast and low at snap and explodes up and into defensive lineman. Athleticism and body control shines when lining up as fullback and blocking in space. Able to engage and stay on block while driving legs to create running lanes. Sinks hips to win leverage battles. Has ability to pull as well as scrape and demolish linebacker at second level. Has to continue to build strength throughout his frame. Becoming more consistent in sinking hips and not bending at waist is important. Has to develop ability to move laterally and be strong with punch when in pass pro. Needs to become more consistent sitting in base and reacting to change of direction in pass pro. Sometimes pops up too quickly at the snap. Multi-year starter at Top 20 program. Mid-round NFL draft pick potential."

Even though they aren’t considered the favorites at this current moment, it’s still great to be in contention to land this talented prospect. Who knows, anything can happen on the recruiting trail!
