UNC basketball standout Armando Bacot was named to the All-ACC Academic team for the 2021-2022 season.

Armando Bacot has been recognized for his outstanding play this season for the UNC basketball program.

However, his latest accomplishment doesn’t revolve around what he does on a basketball court. Instead, it focuses on his dedication in the classroom.

Bacot has been named to the All-ACC Academic team for the 2021-2022 season. The Richmond, Virginia native was joined by Buddy Boeheim of Syracuse and Alondes Williams of Wake Forest as the three conference players to earn first-team All-ACC honors as well as All-ACC Academic honors.

The junior big man played an integral part in the Tar Heels’ run to the National Championship game. During his career-year, Bacot led the country with 31 double-double performances, while also putting up stats that haven’t been accomplished in ACC play since Tim Duncan suited up for the Demon Deacons back in the late 1990s.

As impressive as he is on the basketball court, you could easily make the case that he’s even more impressive off of it. Bacot has made the Dean’s List during his time in Chapel Hill, and was the recipient of North Carolina’s Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete Award. His role on the team goes even further than being just a player, as he served as a captain for this year’s Tar Heels squad.

The accolades continue to roll in for Armando Bacot, and rightly so. He is the epitome of what a student-athlete should be, and continues to be a tremendous representation for not only the UNC basketball program, but for the University of North Carolina as a whole.
