KJ Williams

If Broome is “Option 1,” then KJ Williams should be considered “Option 1A” for the UNC basketball program.

Williams is coming off a monster season for Murray State, as he led the 31-3 Racers in scoring (18 points) and rebounds (8.4). At 6-foot-10-inches and 245 pounds, Williams does a lot of his offensive damage inside the arc but is still a pretty solid three-point shooter for someone of his stature.

Unlike Broome, Williams would come to Chapel Hill with only one season of eligibility remaining — similar to Brady Manek. However, given his talent, along with the potential of some of the program’s future options, Davis and his staff may be more than willing to take on another one-year player to help bridge the gap.

For whatever program he commits to, Williams will provide them with a consistent scoring option and a strong rebounding presence. That sounds like a nice fit for the Tar Heels, who could definitely benefit from some production in both areas.
