With a considerable amount of uncertainty and the possibility of early departures, the UNC basketball program should recruit these 4 impact frontcourt transfers.

Fans of the UNC basketball program don’t want to hear about some of the team’s star players potentially leaving for the NBA (or other options), but it’s something that we have to closely monitor over the next couple of weeks.

We already took a look at some potential impact transfers who the Tar Heels should target IF Caleb Love decides to leave Chapel Hill. Now, it’s time to take a look at the big men who are currently listed in the transfer portal.

The status of junior big man Armando Bacot is one that will make a major impact on the program regardless of his decision. If Bacot elects to return for his senior year, North Carolina will return one of the best frontcourt players in the entire country. With his stock rising due to a strong NCAA Tournament showing, Bacot could decide to test the NBA Draft waters and potentially leave Chapel Hill if the right opportunity presents itself.

Of course, a lot is riding on Bacot’s final decision. However, as Hubert Davis and his staff wait for their players to evaluate their options, they must be ready to fill some of their potential holes via the transfer portal.

Unlike the number of quality guards/forwards in the current portal, there isn’t as much frontcourt depth available. The longer Bacot takes to make a decision, the tougher it will be for North Carolina to find viable options in the transfer portal.

IF Bacot decides to leave North Carolina, here are four players who the Tar Heels should target who can help improve the team’s depth in the frontcourt.
