Brandon Murray

Brandon Murray is another transfer portal target that makes a lot of sense for the Tar Heels to take a look at.

With the chaos surrounding the LSU men’s basketball program, Murray, after just one season with the team, is one of many players that have opted to play elsewhere next season.

As we mentioned earlier, R.J. Davis served as the Tar Heels’ primary ballhandler down the stretch. Given that Murray played mostly off the ball, he could be a really nice backcourt complement to the Tar Heels’ veteran guard.

Although he wasn’t primarily responsible for running the offense, Murray showed flashes of being a capable distributor. This was evident in the Tigers’ SEC Tournament victory over Missouri, one in which the freshman guard tallied a career-high nine assists.

At 6-foot-5, Murray is built well to make an impact on both sides of the floor. Given his versatility, Chapel Hill is a place where Murray could flourish.
