Terrance Shannon, Jr.

Although Pack is a tremendous player, Terrance Shannon Jr. would probably be a better fit given the makeup of the Tar Heels’ current roster.

As a junior, Shannon Jr. averaged 10.4 points per game for Texas Tech. For the 6-foot-6 guard, his shooting and defensive ability stand out the most.

In regards to shooting the basketball, Shannon Jr. made 45.5 percent of his shot attempts this season. During his college career, the Chicago, Illinois native has greatly improved his three-point shooting, as he shot a very efficient 38.4 percent from beyond the arc during his junior season.

With Leaky Black’s status still up in the air, adding a player that can play above-average defense would provide a major boost to the Tar Heels’ rotation. Coming from a program that focuses on good defense, Shannon Jr. knows what it takes to be a difference-maker on the defensive side of the court, and could greatly help North Carolina slow down some of their opponent’s best scoring options.
