In the UNC basketball program’s victory over UCLA, fifth-year senior Brady Manek reached a personal scoring milestone.

Brady Manek is a scoring machine.

In fact, it’s rather impressive to see what the UNC basketball standout is able to do offensively. You typically wouldn’t expect someone of his size to be such a lethal shooter. However, Manek simply defies being viewed as a “typical big man,” as he provides a very unique ability to shoot the basketball at a very effective rate.

Although Manek didn’t have his best scoring output (13 points on five of 13 shooting) in the Tar Heels Sweet 16 victory over UCLA, the Harrah, Oklahoma native accomplished a rather impressive personal milestone to add to his college resume.

Manek becomes the most recent college basketball player to score 2,000 or more points in their career. Although the majority of his points came while at Oklahoma, the fifth-year senior’s best overall campaign has come while wearing a Tar Heels uniform.

The Harrah, Oklahoma native has been a fantastic addition to the UNC basketball program, as he’s served as a much-needed offensive weapon. He’s played a major role in the team’s overall success and has played some of his best basketball during the program’s recent NCAA Tournament stretch.

After scoring just 271 points during the 2020-2021 season, Manek has doubled that in his lone season as a Tar Heel. Heading into Sunday’s Elite Eight contest, Manek has 543 points this season, as he’s hopeful that he has a few more baskets in him as the Tar Heels aspire to continue their postseason journey.

We say it often, but this gives us a great reason to say it once again:

It’s a shame that we only get one season of Brady Manek as a Tar Heel. However, we are lucky that Manek came to the UNC basketball program, as he’s been a true asset since the minute he stepped on campus.
