UNC Women’s Basketball: Deja Kelly picks up another major endorsement
UNC women’s basketball standout Deja Kelly has added yet another major NIL endorsement to her name.
College athletes have greatly benefitted from the new Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rules that have been put into place.
With the rule, student-athletes have the opportunity to receive financial compensation from companies through marketing and promotional endeavors.
Of course, the more notable student-athletes have an advantage, as companies and businesses want their brand to be represented by the biggest stars in their respective sport. Deja Kelly of the UNC women’s basketball program is one of these big-name athletes, as she’s been absolutely thriving in promoting her own personal brand.
Kelly picked up another major endorsement this weekend, as she is now one of the three newest members of the “Beats Fam,” which promotes the Beats by Dre brand. She joins Haley Jones of the Stanford women’s basketball program and Johnny Juzang of the UCLA men’s basketball program as the three student-athletes who have agreed to a NIL deal with the big-time headphone company.
The San Antonio, Texas native adds this endorsement to her already impressive list, joining the likes of Dunkin Donuts and Outback Steakhouse, among others.
You have to give her credit- Deja Kelly is creating a popular brand for herself. Along with her athletic ability, she has grown into a notable figure in college sports and has quickly grown into an enticing option for business to promote their brand with.
There’s no question that Deja Kelly’s focus is on the basketball court. However, it’s great to see student-athletes like her taking advantage of these new opportunities that they have available to them.
