With his final decision looming, the UNC basketball recruiting target has narrowed his list down to six options that are still under consideration.

Gregory “G.G.” Jackson’s recruiting process is quickly starting to gain momentum towards the finish line.

After Jackson announced that he’d be making a decision “in the next two to three weeks,” the five-recruit out of the state of South Carolina released his final six options that he is still actively considering.

The UNC basketball program is among Jackson’s top six options, as they are joined by Auburn, Duke, Georgetown, and South Carolina as well as the NBA G-League on the list. This announcement, via his official Twitter account, is most likely his “finalist” heading into his decision day.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Tar Heels are among Jackson’s finalist, as they have been heavily favored to get a commitment from the 6-foot-8 forward. At this point, it appears to be a battle of the Carolina, as North and South Carolina are viewed as the current frontrunners in the Jackson sweepstakes.

For months, Jackson has appeared to be trending towards a stop in Chapel Hill. On3Sports’ Recruiting Prediction Machine currently gives the UNC basketball program a 86.9% chance to secure his commitment, while all three Cyrstal Ball predictions via 247 Sports (all varying in confidence level) are in favor of the Tar Heels.

Picking up a commitment from Jackson would be a huge addition to North Carolina’s recruiting Class of 2023. With fellow five-star Simeon Wilcher already in the mix, Hubert Davis’ squad could potentially have two major impact players to headline this recruiting class.
