Not even a day after having the UNC basketball program in the NCAA Tournament field of 68, Jerry Palm now has the Tar Heels on the outside looking in once again.

Jerry Palm is at it again!

In his bracketology rankings on Tuesday, Palm had the UNC basketball program among the teams that would make the upcoming NCAA tournament.

Let’s remember: nothing has changed for the Tar Heels since Monday’s overtime victory against Syracuse. North Carolina is still riding a four-game winning streak, and yes, we already were aware that they lack in the quality wins department.

With all this in mind, this didn’t stop the CBS Sports bracketologist from removing the Tar Heels from the field in less than a 24-hour span.

In his most recent rankings, Palm projects that the UNC basketball program will now not make the NCCA tournament. The Tar Heels were not alone in dropping out of the mix, as Palm also removed Wake Forest, another ACC program.

As Palm replaced North Carolina and Wake Forest with Michigan and VCU, here is his reasoning towards the decision:

"Wake Forest and North Carolina have dropped back off the bracket, as both teams are lacking in quality wins. The Demon Deacons are trying to make up for a poor schedule, while the Tar Heels have proven to be unable to beat most tournament-quality opposition. There will still be chances ahead for each of these teams."

It’s really time to ask: what is Jerry Palm’s personal vendetta against the UNC basketball program?!

We are getting to the point where his rankings are starting to become clickbait material. I guess at this point he figures that people will read his work if he mentions the Tar Heels in his headline.

Regardless, the facts are evident. The obsession over this mediocre Michigan team has also got to stop!

The Wolverines are a 16-12 squad that also struggles in Quad1 contests (4-8 in those games), and let’s not forget- the Tar Heels beat them earlier in the season!

VCU, the other team that Palm had jumping North Carolina, has had a respectable 21-7 season. When you dig deeper into their schedule, VCU does have a quality win against Davidson, but other than games against Baylor and UCONN (both losses), their strength of schedule is nothing to brag about.

Simply put,  Jerry Palm flip-flopping in regards to how he views the UNC basketball program heading into March Madness is getting to be too much. Hopefully, the Tar Heels continue to win some games and make the big dance, as their destiny is basically in their own hands.

Luckily for North Carolina, Palm won’t be among those with the final say of who actually makes the NCAA tournament!
