Brady Manek continues to be an offensive force for the UNC basketball program, as the senior forward helped lead the Tar Heels to victory over Louisville on Monday night.

The UNC basketball program survived another close contest, as they pulled away in the final minutes to defeat Louisville at the Dean Smith Center.

Once again, Hubert Davis relied on his starters for big contributions, as each player logged at least 32 minutes of action. The fatigue was definitely kicking in, but credit to the Tar Heels for battling through in order to pick up a much-needed win.

Four of the five starters scored in double figures, but no one impacted the game more than senior Brady Manek. What more could you say about Manek? He has been a tremendous addition to the Tar Heels and an X-factor offensively since the moment he arrived on campus.

When Manek does well offensively, the Tar Heels seem to follow. The Harrah, Oklahoma native has now scored in double-figures in 20 of North Carolina’s 28 games. The Tar Heels are 16-4 when he scores 10 or more points, and are just 4-4 when he doesn’t.

See the correlation?!

Against the Cardinals, Manek once again put up a strong offensive performance. The 6-foot-9 forward scored a game-high 17 points while shooting 50 percent from the field.

As he’s done in recent games, Manek got hot early on. He made a trio of three-point field goals in the first half and then proceeded to provide some timely offensive production throughout.

Not only did he impact the game with his quality shooting, but it also seems as if Manek loves to be involved in the passing game as well. Although he had just two assists, Manek made a handful of quality passes that opened up lanes for his teammates. Below are two instances of Manek’s stellar passing:

If his plus/minus rating (a team-high 13) is any indicator, UNC is much better when he’s on the floor. Although we’re happy to have him for this season, it’s also disappointing to know that we only get him for one year in Chapel Hill!
