Cam Scott’s stock continues to rise. Where does the UNC basketball program currently stand in his recruitment?

Cam Scott’s recruitment is heating up, as he’s quickly becoming one of the most sought-after wings in the class of 2024.

Currently, Scott is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 25 player in his recruiting class. He is viewed as the eighth-best shooting guard of the class and is also holding the top overall ranking for the state of South Carolina.

This season, Scott continues to tear it up, as he scored his 1,000th career point early on for Lexington High School. He was also recently named Conference Player of the Year and awarded all-state honors for the second time in his high school career.

Scott has made some visits so far, including Clemson, Florida State, and South Carolina. The 6-foot-5 sophomore has also made a visit to the UNC basketball program and discussed his visit in further detail with Jamie Shaw of On3:

"“That (North Carolina) is a different type of atmosphere. The fans come out with intensity, no matter who they are playing. That was the biggest takeaway I had from the visit. I like the blue color. They have a very nice campus. Coach (Jeff) Lebo is the main one in contact with us.”"

While visiting the campus for a game for the second time this season on February 13, the five-star recruit left Chapel Hill with an official scholarship offer. Scott became just the second player in the class of 2024 that the Tar Heels have offered so.

Scott had some good things to say about all of the schools he’s visited so far but mentioned the atmosphere in Chapel Hill as something that truly stood out to him. It seems as if the Tar Heel faithful made an impression on the talented guard when he came to visit the campus.

Although he’s visited a few schools already, Scott still has a few to visit coming up over the next couple of weeks. He is expected to visit South Carolina and Wake Forest over the next couple of weekends.

A commitment from Scott would be a tremendous start to the 2024 recruiting class for the UNC basketball program. As he still has two years left at the high school level, you can expect that Scott will not only continue to get better but that more big-time programs will attempt to lure him to their program as well.
