UNC Basketball Recruiting: 2024 prospect visiting Tar Heels on Saturday
A class of 2024 UNC basketball recruiting target will be in attendance Saturday night when the Tar Heels take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels were hoping to have class of 2023 prospect Gregory “G.G.” Jackson on campus for their Saturday night game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but due to the potential inclement weather conditions in the area that will not happen.
But even though they won’t receive a visit from Jackson, one of their top targets in the class and a consensus five-star recruit, they will have an important visitor on campus for their fifth conference game of the season.
That visitor is Cam Scott, a talented shooting guard and 2024 prospect from Lexington, South Carolina that’s already holding offers from a number of Division I programs including Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. He’s also getting attention from Auburn and North Carolina, the latter leading to his unofficial visit to the Dean Smith Center this weekend.
It could also lead to a scholarship offer at some point, giving the Tar Heels what they hope will be an inside track on one of the nation’s best backcourt players. A 6-foot-5, 165-pound standout at Lexington High School, Scott will likely be one of the top-rated prospects in the 2024 class once rankings for high school sophomores are released.
Between now and then, Scott will try to solidify one of the top spots in his class and the Tar Heels will continue making a good early impression on the rising star. Although we are still three years away from seeing Scott or any of his current classmates on a college basketball court, the Tar Heels are never going to be in a position where they can’t use an elite shooter of his ilk.
We’ll continue following all the latest on Cam Scott in the coming months and years, as well as UNC basketball recruiting across the board.
