British Brooks

Over a span of a few weeks, British Brooks went from a key special teams contributor to a major focal point of the Tar Heels offensive attack.

With his recent performances, Brooks earned his way into the running back rotation. Quite frankly, you could easily make the case that he’s been the Tar Heels best running back over the last three weeks of the season.

Earlier in the week, Brooks announced that he would be returning to Chapel Hill for his fifth and final season of eligibility. On Thursday, Brooks gave us a taste of what we could definitely see from him next season.

Brooks got the UNC football program on the board with his 63-yard rush. Not only was that a career-long run for the Gastonia, North Carolina native, but it also serves as a new Tar Heel bowl record as well as the longest run in Duke’s Mayo Bowl history.

It’s great to know that we’ll be seeing more of Brooks, as his leadership and veteran presence is definitely valuable in the Tar Heels locker room. Even though Mack Brown’s team has some running back depth making its way to campus, Brooks has earned the right to be a steady part of the team’s offensive attack moving forward.
