As Hubert Davis and the UNC Basketball program continue their tough non-conference schedule, the recruiting news hasn’t really slowed down. The future of the program rests in the 2022, 2023 and so on classes and already the Tar Heels are off to a good start in that area.

And they will soon find out their fate for a four-star prospect in 2023 that is high on their list.

Four-star point guard London Johnson recently named his Top 12 schools about a month ago and now it appears as if a decision is likely coming soon. The Norcross, Georgia native talked to Jacob Polacheck of Zag’s Blog to provide an update on his recruitment and revealed that he has plans to make his decision “very soon” and it should come in the next three weeks.

In addition to that, Johnson talked about what he liked about each of his 12 finalists and had some encouraging words for UNC, calling the program his “dream school” growing up:

"North Carolina: “North Carolina was a dream school for me growing up. I’ve always liked them.”"

Those are positive words despite being a short answer but UNC fans have heard this one before in previous recruitments. Players like Josh Green in the past and most recently Robert Dillingham and Zion Cruz have all called UNC their dream school and none of the three ended up there.

However, 2022 prospect Will Shaver also said it and did commit.

Right now, it’s tough to get a feel for what school is leading in Johnson’s recruitment and keeping his Top 12 with no update doesn’t offer much insight into a leader. There’s also no Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports for Johnson just yet, so he’s keeping this recruitment tight-lipped.

Over the next few weeks before the announcement we should have a better gauge on where things stand.
