Justin Olson

In the middle of the third quarter, Justin Olson was called for a huge holding penalty that negated a long run from British Brooks. The play would’ve set the Tar Heels up with first and goal inside the Wolfpack five-yard line, but the penalty made them have to work harder for the points.

Luckily for the sophomore wideout, he was able to make up for his costly mistake.

A few plays later, Olson did his best Randy Moss impression as he hauled in a pass from Sam Howell in the end zone. The score not only gave the Tar Heels a 10-point cushion, but also marks the first time that the Huntersville, North Carolina native has scored in his college career.

Olson had just two catches for 28 yards, but it’s evident that he’s making a case to be more involved in the UNC offense. Although the unit has struggled to find a steady secondary option after Josh Downs, Howell has shown that he trusts the sophomore wideout to make plays in some big spots.
