Jahlil Taylor

For the first time, Jahlil Taylor has earned helmet sticker honors!

What did Taylor do to deserve the recognition? The junior from Vienna, Georgia made a rather big play prior to the end of the first half:

North Carolina desperately needed a stop, and Taylor helped provide that. He blocked a Pittsburgh field goal attempt, which kept the score the same heading into the second half. This was huge, given that the Tar Heels were set to receive the ball in an attempt to mount a comeback.

Taylor’s blocked field goal is the first by a Tar Heel since Xach Gil blocked one against the Miami Hurricanes back in 2019. Simply put, it was a big play that helped the Tar Heels maintain some much-needed momentum in their comeback trail.
