Antoine Green

Josh Downs has drawn the majority of the attention in regards to the Tar Heels wide receiver group. However, it was the senior Antoine Green who stole the show today.

The Rockledge, FL native had arguably his best overall game of the 2021 season. Green hauled in a season-high five receptions for 83 yards, including a 29-yard score in the third quarter that ultimately sparked the comeback.

Since a 100-yard performance against Georgia State on September 11, Green hasn’t been heavily involved in the Tar Heels offense. However, with some key guys entering the transfer portal, the opportunity is there for Green to make an impact over the final few weeks of the season.

This performance is a great sign for Green, as he was able to be a reliable target for Howell, especially when Downs was not as involved as he’s been throughout the season. He’ll certainly be a player to keep an eye on as the Tar Heels hope to continue rolling offensively.
