Grayson Atkins

Special teams players could often get lost in the shuffle. However, Grayson Atkins is definitely deserving of some recognition for this week’s contest.

The graduate student from Boiling Springs, S.C. made all three of his field goal attempts, and also converted all seven of his extra-point attempts. On the day, Atkins was responsible for 16 points, which, in a game that was so close, definitely served as a factor.

Even when the Tar Heels drew a penalty attempting a two-point conversion, Atkins was able to step in and knock down his extra-point attempt. With every point being so meaningful, Mack Brown and company had faith that Atkins would be able to get the job done when called upon.
