The unofficial start to the 2021-22 UNC Basketball season gets underway tonight with the return of Late Night in the Dean Dome. Head coach Hubert Davis will host his first Late Night event on Friday as fans get their first chance to see the new team in action.

The event also allows UNC to get recruits on camps to check out the program and attend the event.

With 2023 five-star forward G.G. Jackson already confirmed, UNC will also be hosting another recruit as well. Four-star forward Jarin Stevenson will also be in attendance for the event, just a few days after officially landing his offer from Davis and the program:

The 6-foot-8, 190-pound Stevenson received his offer from UNC a few days back as Davis and the staff finally extended the offer. UNC did show interest in Stevenson over the Summer and are now in full pursuit for the talented recruit.

Stevenson is a Chapel Hill native that has ties to the program as his mother, Nicole Walker Stevenson, played college basketball there under Sylvia Hatchell. His father, Jarod Stevenson, played at Richmond in the 1990’s and even matched up against the Tar Heels in his career.

The forward doesn’t have an official ranking just yet as the updated rankings for 2024 aren’t out but he’s expected to be one of the top players in the state of North Carolina and that 2024 class overall. Stevenson is expected to be a priority for Davis and his staff in the 2024 class as they will put the full court press on in this recruitment.

So far, only Stevenson and Jackson have been confirmed for attending tonight’s Late Night event but more could be added to the list ahead of the start time.

Caleb Love says there was no question he was returning. dark. Next
