Josh Downs

If you didn’t already know, Josh Downs is a beast.

Like the rest of the UNC football program, Downs certainly had some struggles in this one. However, the sophomore wide receiver still made a huge impact, accumulating over 100 yards receiving for the fourth time this season.

Overall, Downs finished with 9 receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown marked the seventh straight game in which Downs has reached the end zone, dating back to last year’s Orange Bowl. He’s also got at least eight receptions in each of the Tar Heels’ half-dozen games this season.

Downs is clearly the Tar Heels’ most lethal weapon, and it will be exciting to see what he has in store not only the next couple of weeks but over the remainder of his Tar Heel career. If he continues to produce at a high level, it won’t be long until we see Downs playing on Sundays in the NFL.
