Hubert Davis and his UNC Basketball staff are starting to form their big board in terms of the 2023 recruiting class. Earlier in the week the program extended an offer out to a four-star point guard.

And now a few days later, a five-star point guard in the 2023 class has been offered.

Per Dan McDonald of Rivals, Davis has officially extended an offer out to point guard Isaiah Collier on Friday. The elite prospect is the latest prospect to earn an offer from UNC, pushing their total of offers in the class to eight prospects including three point guards:

The 6-foot-3-inch, 180-pound Collier is a native of Marietta, Georgia and has drawn interest from the Tar Heels over the Summer. That interest continued and now in the Fall, he las landed an offer from the Blue Blood program.

Collier is listed as a five-star recruit that is ranked No. 18 nationally, the No. 5 point guard and No. 2 player in the state of Georgia per the 247Sports composite rankings. He has a total of 12 offers in his recruitment, drawing interest from programs like Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Texas Tech and Cincinnati among others. Now, the Tar Heels have entered the race which could boost his recruitment a bit.

With Robert Dillingham still being UNC’s top target at the point guard position, we should note that Davis’ last two offers in this 2023 class have been to point guards in London Johnson and Collier. UNC would love to land Dillingham but if for some reason that doesn’t happen, they are hoping to have some other options too.

UNC has yet to land a commitment in the 2023 class but with a long ways to go, things should start to pick up in terms of visits and more offers.
