UNC Football: Tar Heels’ helmet stickers for win over Virginia
Caleb Hood
Heading into the season, there was a lot of talk around freshman Caleb Hood.
Originally a quarterback prospect, Hood transitioned over to running back and turned some heads during training camp. The true freshman earned the opportunity to be in the team’s running back rotation, and is viewed as the team’s second option on the depth chart.
Against the Cavaliers, Hood was part of the team’s impressive rushing performance, and even accomplished something for the first time in his collegiate career.
The Rockingham, North Carolina native carried the ball nine times for 66 yards. In the third quarter, Hood scored his first collegiate touchdown, as he rushed in from five yards out to give the Tar Heels a 10-point lead at the time.
From what we saw on Saturday night, it’s understandable why there is so much hype around Caleb Hood. As he continues to develop at his new position, you can expect that we’ll hear plenty more about him not only over the next few weeks, and for the next few seasons as well.
