Antoine Green

Coming into Saturday night’s contest, Antoine Green’s career-high in receiving yards was 62, a mark he set two seasons ago against Virginia. Against Georgia State, it only took the senior one quarter to re-write his personal record books.

On the Tar Heels’ second offensive drive, Green connected with quarterback Sam Howell for a 57-yard score. After one quarter of play, the Rockledge, Florida native hauled in two passes for 88 yards, a new career-high.

Even after a very strong performance in the first quarter, Green was not done. The senior wide receiver added another reception to give him 117 yards to lead the Tar Heels.

This performance not only set new personal bests for Green, but also marked the first time that he eclipsed the 100-yard mark as a Tar Heel. With the Tar Heels looking for some of their playmakers to step up, maybe this game will serve as Green’s coming out party in regards to him being a key weapon in the team’s offensive scheme moving forward.
