Hubert Davis and the UNC Basketball program are off to a hot start in the 2022 recruiting class, landing three commitments this Summer.

In his first class since taking over, Davis currently holds a top five class and is hoping to build on that moving forward with the additions of at least one and possibly two more recruits. But as it stands now, the Tar Heels class is in good shape despite the pursuit of other recruits.

On Wednesday, Rivals made an update to their class of 2022 rankings and all three UNC recruits were impacted.

Guard Seth Trimble moved up two spots from No. 34 to No. 32 on the rankings while three-star center Will Shaver moved up 14 spots from No. 138 to No. 124. While both saw an increase in their ranking, Jalen Washington is trending the opposite direction.

Washington was among a big mover in the wrong direction, falling 24 spots from No. 26 to No. 50 in the updated list. The recruit is ranked as a five-star prospect on 247Sports but is now a four-star player on Rivals.  The recruit suffered a torn ACL, missing his sophomore season before returning last year.

In terms of remaining targets, four-star small forward Cam Whitmore shot up the rankings 79 spots to No.22 overall. Forward Tyler Nickel took a tumble on the list, dropping 38 spots to No. 134 overall. These rankings will obviously be updated again before the class is complete.

Overall, UNC’s class sits at No.  6 overall behind Kansas, UCLA, Ohio State, Duke and UCONN.
